EXEMPLIFYING the Bedan spirit and radiating enthusiasm, the San Beda College Alabang (SBCA) Women’s Basketball Team faced an intense yet close match against Philippine Women’s University (PWU) last Oct. 19 at Chiang Kai Shek College (CKSC).

MEETING and playing alongside their sports hero is a dream cherished by every student-athlete. Participating teams that advanced to the ANTA’s Shock the Game tournament finals had the opportunity to meet the four-time National Basketball Association (NBA) Champion, Klay Thompson, and three-time NBA Champion, teammate Kevon Looney, last Aug. 31 at SM Megamall.

LAST Aug. 25 to Sept. 10, basketball fans reunited for the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup. The host countries: Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia set the scene for an unforgettable event where 32 national teams battled it out for basketball supremacy. Each team had a remarkable journey such as the Philippines’ Gilas Pilipinas, as they competed in the fierce battle.

REPRESENTED by the red and white colors of SBCA, the Women’s Basketball team emanated astounding energy on the court with their dedication and harmonious teamwork. THE BEDAN HERALD interviewed Team Bene together with their coach, Sir Jayen Cruz on how the team maintained their passion for the sport as their top priority despite the obstacles they have encountered over the years.

POOL, a century-old sport, is not only a hobby that we see people dive into during their free time but can also be played competitively. In fact, the Philippines has even been considered the pool capital of the world for the many achievements made by Filipino athletes.

WITHIN the hallowed grounds of SBCA, remarkable talent is scoring goals. In an interview with THE BEDAN HERALD, Rose Ann Anib (IV-BECED) uncovered her tale of determination, resilience, and the unwavering pursuit of her dreams in the world of women’s football.

TOURNAMENTS are finally flooding in, but let’s step back and consider the uncertainties and challenges athletes faced during the protracted pandemic break, forcing deferral to all sporting competitions. After his prolonged hiatus, THE BEDAN HERALD interviewed Edwin B. Romero (II-BSBA MM) of the football team in his long-awaited return to the field.

LAST July 11 to 13, the International Esports Federation’s (IESF) World Esports Championship (WEC) Asia and Oceania Qualifiers took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Philippine National Esports team, SIBOL, had their eyes set on dominating the competition in the games of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) and Dota 2.

LAST June 2, the College capped off the 2023 Intramurals with performances from the Megacrew dance competition, exciting ball games championship, and the closing ceremony.

LAST May 6, the Centro Escolar University (CEU) Scorpions Basketball Team took home the win from their game against the San Beda College Alabang (SBCA) Men’s Basketball Team for the Men’s National Collegiate Athletic Association (MNCAA) Season 19.
