LAST Oct. 25 to 29, players competed in the 12th season of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) where players from ECHO (Orcas), Blacklist International (BLCK, Agents or Codebreakers), RSG PH, AP Bren Esports (Hive), ONIC PH, Smart Omega (OMG), Minana EVOS, and TNC gathered at EVM Convention Center, Quezon City fighting to be one of the grand finalists.
And Now we enter the Land of Dawn
The event started last Oct. 25 with BLCK vs ONIC PH. The Codebreakers of Team BLCK were welcoming the comeback of their two members, Jonmar “OhMyV33nus'' Villaluna and Danerie “Wise'' Rosario. ONIC put up a good fight, but BLCK came out victorious at 3-2. In the next bracket, RSG faced against OMG with RSG winning a landslide score of 3-0 and securing their spot in the Upper Bracket Semifinals.
Day two kicked off with a classic showdown between BLCK and reigning champions, ECHO. As their match came to an end, BLCK triumphed against the Orcas with a score of 3-1, breaking their losing streak of ECHO while securing a spot in the Upper Bracket finals. “Gusto namin patunayan na malakas pa rin kaming lahat, buong team namin,” said Kiel “Oheb” Soriano of Team BLCK on being one step closer to the M5 World Championships.
AP Bren Esports secured their Upper Bracket spot during the next game against RSG, sending them to the Lower bracket with a score of 3-2.
The Thick of the Battle
The third day of the competition opened with the Upper bracket final, wherein the winner will secure a spot to represent the Philippines at the M5 World Championships. AP Bren secured their spot in the Grand Final with a devastating 3-0 against BLCK, sending the Codebreakers to the Lower Bracket. The win made AP Bren the first team in this season of MPL PH to secure their spot at the M5 World Championships.
“Simula po nung nag-MLBB ako, 'di ko po in-expect na makakatungtong ako dito sa pro scene. Maraming salamat sa inyo, sa tiwala, sa mga magulang ko na kahit galit na galit sakin kapag naglalaro ako ng MLBB. Ngayon nandito na ako!” Michael “KyleTzy” Sayson of Team AP Bren said as their team is headed to the M5 World Championship.
Oct. 28 marked the fourth day of the competition, with BLCK and ECHO battling again in a do-or-die match this season to see who will move forward into the Grand Finale against AP Bren. BLCK then secured their spot in the grand finals with a 3-1 win against their rival team, Echo.
Team AP Bren Secures Their Spot to Represent the Philippines
Last Oct. 29, the final day of the competition, Blacklist International and AP Bren faced off during the grand finals. After an intense game, Hives from team AP Bren came out victorious against The Codebreakers of team BLCK, winning the coveted Championship for this season of MPL PH. The players from AP Bren were happy to say that through hard work across multiple seasons, they have stayed true to their slogan, “Ang Pinalakas, Bren Lang Malakas!”.
All of the teams presented their hard work and determination to represent the Philippines in a worldwide M-series event. It was AP Bren and BLCK that rose victorious this season and secured a spot at the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang M5 World Championships from Dec. 2-17, 2023, marking the first time that the Philippines will host the competition.
