Last Feb. 19 to 23, the Bedan Information Technology Society (BITS) held an online Electronic Sports (E-sports) tournament that was open to the college students of San Beda College Alabang (SBCA) to compete during the School of Engineering and Technology (SET) Week. The event consists of three games, Valorant, Mobile Legends, and Minecraft. Tertiary School students quickly gathered their teams and signed up to win the title of champions and a cash prize of P1,500.
Gilas Passes their First Test in the Four-Year FIBA Cycle
AFTER their historic gold medal finish at the 2023 Asian Games, the new era of Gilas Pilipinas looks to have a strong start to 2024 with the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers. Saudi Arabia is hosting the tournament for the second time after 1997. Golden Moments: Resilience and Triumph with Team Philippines in Asian Games 2022
THE Asian Games 2022 was postponed to 2023 because of the rising COVID-19 cases in Shanghai, China which was only two hours away from the host city Hangzhou. Despite this, the Asian Games 2022 was a large success with the Philippines having a strong performance in the quadrennial showcase held from Sept. 23 to Oct. 8, 2023. With about 12,000 athletes from 45 countries competing for nearly 500 gold medals across 40 sports, the Philippines bagged 18 medals, including four gold, two silver, and 12 bronze, finishing 17th overall at the end of the continental showpiece. Gold medalists include Gilas Pilipinas for basketball (men’s 5-on-5), EJ Obiena for men’s pole vault, Meggie Ochoa and Annie Ramirez for women’s jiu-jitsu.
SBCA Girl’s Futsal Team’s Strategy to Victory Against La Salle College Antipolo
THE red-blooded skills and determination together with the loudest roar from the crowd, the San Beda College Alabang (SBCA) Girl’s Futsal Team left no room for doubts as they made their goal to a 19-0 victory in their match against La Salle College Antipolo (LSCP) at Assumption College San Lorenzo last Nov. 11.

THE Philippines has trained plenty of Filipino para-athletes over the years. However, the athletes who introduced the Philippines to the Paralympic Games undoubtedly made the greatest impact — Adeline Dumapong-Ancheta, Ernie Gawilan, and Allain Ganapin.
