TWO Communication and Media Studies (CMS) students qualified for this year’s Paper Competition at the National Communication Research Conference (NCRC) to be held at De La Salle University Manila on Nov. 22-23.

“FOR this year, the most important thing for the engineering department and the Junior Bedan Engineering Society (JBES) is exposure,” says Karl Ng (II-BSEE), the first president of SBCA’s first co-curricular organization from the Engineering Department. JBES comprises students with a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Industrial Engineering.

“TOGETHER, let’s make this year one of purpose, growth, and success, and together let’s make a magical and beautiful experience,” Atashia Casim (IV-BSP), incoming president, said in her inaugural speech during SBCA Rotaract (RAC)’s handover and induction ceremony last Oct. 18 at the Rosendo Herrera Hall.

MOVING to the final stages before graduation, the Counseling and Career Development Services (CCDS) kicked off a seminar last Oct. 19 at Manny Reyes Hall, orienting interns and fourth-year students of the tertiary school regarding the Student Internship Program (SIP). Before the seminar, a holy mass was also celebrated in the St. Benedict chapel, presided over by Fr. Gerardo Ma. De Villa, OSB, SBCA Rector President.

WITH a makeshift ring in the center of the Manny Reyes Hall and rambutan served to the students of entrepreneurship, the Bedan Entrepreneurs Society (BES) held their General Assembly last Oct. 18. The theme, “Rambutan: Bedan Entrepreneurs Society Members Onboarding” is a tongue-in-cheek reference among the officers of the organization; reminiscing on many different rambulan trends during the pandemic and then later becoming online rambulan.

TO celebrate the lights of triumph, the SBCA Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) had a testimonial dinner in honor of the new Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examinations (CPALE) passers at the Manny Reyes Hall last Oct. 12 with the theme, “Luminate: Celebrating the Lights of Triumph.” On the same day, a Thanksgiving mass for the upcoming CPALE takers scheduled on Oct. 25 to 27 was presided over by Rev. Fr. Gerardo Ma. De Villa, OSB, SBCA Rector President at the St. Benedict Chapel.

THE BEDAN HERALD proudly announces the return of [M]ulat, its highly anticipated interschool journalism forum. It will happen on Nov. 8 at 1 p.m. in the Rosendo Herrera Hall, SBCA. Senior high school and college students are invited to attend the event, which will gather various student publications from different schools.

WORLD Mental Health Day is on Oct. 10, and to celebrate, the Bedan Psychological Society (BPS) held its General Assembly on Oct. 9, 2024. The theme of the event was “Love Languages,” and it aimed to bring awareness to mental health struggles and to celebrate the Psychology department’s achievements this year.

CONTINUING the annual World Teachers Day Celebration, the faculty and teaching staff of the SBCA Tertiary Schools leap into the future as they celebrate World Teachers Day with the theme, FuturisTEACH: Shaping Better Futures this Oct. 18 at the Manny Reyes Hall.

“You may or may not have chosen this course, but it chose you,” said Prof. Carlo Hebron, guest speaker, to the Junior Bedan Marketing Association (JBMA) at their General Assembly last Oct.11 at the Rosendo Herrera Hall. The JBMA set the stage for their freshmen’s exciting academic year ahead. The event was themed as a costume party where marketing students wore their best outfits impersonating their favorite movie icons.
