Organized by the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), the Tertiary Schools of San Beda College Alabang (SBCA) held their First Year Level Orientation Program at the Tugade Auditorium last August 3 to welcome Batch 2027 for this academic year.

In his opening remarks, Rector President Fr. Gerardo Ma. De Villa, OSB emphasized the utilization of emerging technologies in the institution and the quality collegiate education SBCA has to offer. "Bedan Education is responsive not reactive, long term not short term, innovative not merely compliant, technologically powered and not merely technologically assisted,” he said. Fr. De Villa concluded his speech by introducing the three values that St. Bede speaks: obedience, reticence, and humility.

“You made the right choice,” Dr. Andres Ignacio C. San Mateo Jr., Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA) said in his inspirational message to batch 2027. Choosing SBCA allows them to be part of a circle that shall be trained to become reputable individuals in their respective field through the values anchored in the teachings of St. Benedict and the examples of St. Bede.

Mr. John Paul R. Domingo, the Vice Dean for the School of Arts and Sciences and Teacher Education, and Ms. Precy G. Baluarte, the Vice Dean for the School of Business, Accountancy, and Management had a thorough discussion of the Academic Policies of the tertiary schools. Moreover, Ms. Roma Wynn C. Sedo, Dean of Student Affairs, discussed the student activities while Ms. Andrianna H. Quioyo, Prefect of Discipline for Student Affairs, expounded on the norms of conduct, sanctions, and offenses.  This was followed by Mr. Reynan M. Guerrero, Prefect of Student Activities who discussed the activities the freshmen could look forward to.

Jacob Morrie Herrera (IV-BACMS), the OIC SEC External Vice President concluded the orientation by introducing the offices and educational support, co-curricular and extra-curricular organization, and independent organizations.

The freshmen proceeded to their tertiary schools' orientation, with the School of Arts, Sciences, and Teacher Education at the Bellarmine Hall, the School of Business, Accountancy, and Management at the Multi-Purpose Hall, and the School of Engineering and Technology at the Balcruz Hall. This was then followed by their departmental orientation and campus tour headed by the Council of Student Leaders.
