Roaring Into the Digital Age

By Jan Allen Chavez I November 5 , 2021

WHEN it comes to our favorite streamers, we all have our preferences. From the people who serve as comedic reliefs to those who are adept at their favorite game, or someone who’s into something a little bit unique. As streaming becomes more mainstream, the streaming world’s biggest stars, like Tfue, Shroud, and Ninja, continue to rack up millions of views every month. Some small-time creators also rise to popularity, including these Bedans from the College.

Jun Tolentino: “ELDoS”

Jun Tolentino (IV-BSBA-MM), dubbed “ELDoS”, is a member of Tyrant Esports PH, an e-sports organization hailing from the Philippines. Tyrant Destra, the Call of Duty Mobile (CODM) division of the said organization, is one of the teams that were able to qualify for the top 16 in the Philippine World Championship 2021 last Aug. 27. It is one of the biggest CODM competitions in Philippine history. Tolentino is an avid CODM fan who played the franchise and likes to participate in small tournaments since he was young.

Aside from his esports career, Tolentino is also a prominent member of Somedays (smdys), a music band composed of BACMS students from SBCA. You can catch ELDoS live every 2 p.m. on his Facebook page: “ELDoS Gaming”.

Raenan Isabel: “Yakee”

With over 5,600 followers on the Facebook page “Yakee Gaming,” Raenan Isabel (IV-BACMS) is currently the team captain of a renowned esports team “Veni Vidi Vici (VVV)”, which is one of the biggest esports organizations nationwide. Isabel, together with her team LXIX, is known for participating in high prize pool tournaments such as prevailing in Garena CODM Valkyrie Series PH, an all-women’s championship. In this competition, her team earned 1st Runner Up in Garena CODM Valkyrie Series ESL MSP (Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines). Her team also bagged the championship in SMART Liga Adarna Season 3: Women Rising CODM. Isabel decided to pursue her own path in esports after being inspired by the success and popularity of her friend, JC “Jayzee” Rivera of Omega Esports. Follow Isabel on TikTok (@yakeesober) and on her Facebook page where you can catch her live while gaming.

Antonio Carillio: “Don Ty”

Referred to as “Don Ty,” Antonio Carrillio (IV-BSBA-MM) is one of the most followed streamers on this list, boasting over 1.8k followers on his Facebook page. He is part of the AKP’s (Asylum of Killing Prodigies) main Valorant Roster. One of the team’s most recent tournaments is the Third Season of University Alliance Cup Valorant in which they were able to qualify as semi-finalists. Shroud, a famous Canadian streamer, fueled Don Ty’s passion for gaming since he was little. Since then, he has been trying to keep that passion burning. Be sure to give him a follow on his Facebook page: “Dontits”.

Raphael Torio: “Elite Slug”

Moving away from the current trend of gaming, Raphael Torio’s (IV-BSBA-FM) preference of gaming leans more towards old popular titles such as Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO). Despite making content for mainstream games such as Valorant and Monster Hunter World, the two former games mentioned remain as his most-streamed games. If you want to follow Raphael, make sure to check his Facebook page: “Elite Slug”.

Joshua Jimenez: “Uteki”

One of the more casual streamers on this list is Joshua Jimenez (IV-BSP). Jimenez streams a variety of games, both casual and competitive games which includes: Dota 2, Valorant, Apex Legends, Resident Evil: Village, among others. Jimenez was also crowned as Mr. Psychology last 2020, proving that this hotshot is more than meets the eye. You can catch him live every weekend from 8 pm onwards on his Facebook page: “Uteki”.

The College is filled with many gamers and streamers that are yet to be discovered. As one community, make sure to show support to our fellow Bedans!
