KEEPING  the annual tradition, Grades 11 and 12 of the Integrated Basic Education Department battled it out in the Sinulog Festival at the Fr. Bellarmine Baltazar Gymnasium last Jan. 16. The competing strands of Accountancy and Business Management, Humanities, and Social Sciences, and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics filled the venue with their synchronized chants and colorful attire.

Hosted by Ms. Chelby Acenas and  Sir Ian Tulauan, the Sinulog Festival competition started with a message from Rector-President Rev. Fr. Gerardo Ma. De Villa, OSB. He noted that the Sinulog Festival is an exciting opportunity for the community to gather and witness culture & religion colliding with song and dance.

The students in their respective strands banded together to create an explosive display of their faith in an attempt to take home the title of Sinulog Champion 2025. With a “four-peat” on the line, the STEM team successfully secured the title as they were named the Sinulog Champion 2025, with HUMSS getting 1st Runner-Up and ABM securing 2nd Runner-Up.

Aside from the Sinulog Festival, the strands also prepared and dressed up their respective Sinulog Queens: Faith Abe representing ABM, Mary Mikhaela Toracarion from STEM, and Yezra Ricafort for HUMSS. Their grace and beauty made it a very close and tough decision for the judges. Ultimately, a new Sinulog Queen must be named and crowned; thus, Faith Abe from ABM won the title.

The Sinulog Festival is one of the many annual traditions of the Integrated Basic Education Department, the Batch Cheerdance Competition, and the Field Demonstration.
