THE brightest shades of red and pink colored every place. Roses, tulips, sunflowers, and many more flowers decorated the halls, with everything shaped like hearts. Treats dipped in the sweetest of chocolates to give someone dear. With a checklist to celebrate a day filled with love and adoration, the last thing to plan was the location.

In an interview with THE BEDAN HERALD,  students shared their ideal date locations to celebrate Valentine’s Day without any restrictions.

Reign Rafiñan (I-BSP) would take the chance to bring her blockmates to Singapore, a place very close to her heart. It made sense to share experiences of love and happiness with those close to her heart. Still oceans apart, Marnie Domingo’s (I-BSA) immediate answer was the city of love, Paris. She had always wanted to visit the country, picnic, collect souvenirs, and try local foods. It was also a no-brainer for her to spend the day with her family, with her sister being a special mention as her date. Truly, the love for family is everlasting, as highlighted in Domingo’s reason, “sila kasi ‘yung alam kong hindi ako iiwan.”

Marvin Palumbarit (II-BSIT) shared the same sentiments of Heart’s Day being a time of celebration with the family. He thought Festival Mall in Alabang would be a great date location since he also prioritized their convenience. At the same time, Emmanuel Cruz (I-BSLM) had the same idea of catering to the convenience of his date. Even with his first mentions of Manila Bay, Boracay, and Baguio, he settled on Alabang Town Center because it was a location his future partner would likely be allowed to go. He mentioned dining, playing billiards, bowling, and every activity they could do during dates. For Marciana Valle (II-BSBA-MM), who valued her comfort place, Molito Lifestyle Center was her choice. She imagined the day as a coffee date, eager to learn more about her partner and make herself known.

Regarding partners, Andrei Entrada (III-BAIS) wants to take his girlfriend to the beach. He imagined the cool breeze as they sat side-by-side by the water, watching the sun rise and set while he sang to her. As for Keith Olmedo (I-BACMS), who has already reserved his date and location this Valentine’s, the art gallery is the best choice for him. He contemplated what he and his partner both enjoyed, which was to appreciate art along with the effort of the artist. “You would realize how much something can be considered as beautiful,” said Olmedo.

Whether the place is a plane away or a walk in the park, love in its purest forms knows no limitation. In every answer, sincerity and enthusiasm are present to celebrate the heart’s day with their person or persons. And by the end of the day, may the love shared go beyond the celebration of Valentine’s. May it bloom and grow even in the smallest corners of the Earth.
