“The feast of the Sto. Niño is not merely a celebration but a call to action,” said Rev. Fr. Gerardo Ma. De Villa, OSB, as the Bedan community marked Jan. 20 as the final day of the Pista ng Sto. Niño 2024.
The four-day celebration ended with a grand procession at 4 p.m. Heavy rain poured out during the procession, forcing many students to stop by the Alabang Hills Village’s (AHV) clubhouse and other roofed areas to wait for the rain to ease. Presided over by Rev. Fr. Gerardo, together with the Benedictine monks, the Solemn High Mass was celebrated on the football field. The fireworks display and the grand raffle followed the main highlight of this year’s closing Ceremony.
Capping off this year’s celebration, the much-awaited concert started at 8 p.m. with the opening acts of Bedan talents, namely, 25 Abbey, Alimango, and Trails of Orange Peels. The most anticipated special performance by Lola Amour heightened the excitement of the crowd as they performed their original tracks, “Dahan-Dahan,” “Maybe Maybe,” and “Pwede Ba,” and a cover of Kitchie Nadal’s song, “Huwag na Huwag Mong Sasabihin.” Lola Amour finished the concert with their hit songs “Fallen” and “Raining in Manila.”
