SURROUNDED by the cheers and roars of the Red Lions, the San Beda College Alabang (SBCA) men’s basketball team secured their first victory for the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) Season 25 as they prevailed against Colegio de San Juan de Letran (CSJL) last May 11.

The Red Lions started strong as they continued to score points and maintained their momentum during the first quarter. Despite CSJL’s attempt to take over, the Red Lions managed to widen the gap and ended the first quarter with a score of 23-16. The first point for the second quarter went to SBCA after a successful free throw after a foul was raised. With the team’s determination to win, they ended the quarter with 51-30, still in favor of the Red Lions.

During halftime, the Red Lion’s Pep Squad and Varsity Cheer took the stage and captured the audience’s attention with their performance. As the third quarter resumed, the Red Lions continued to score points and increased their lead against CSJL by half, finishing the quarter with an 81-42 score. The Lion’s Den was filled with excitement and anticipation when the fourth and final quarter began. Maintaining their energy and dedication, the Red Lions dominated the court and refused CSJL to take the lead even for a second. With one minute left on the clock, the Red Lions began to celebrate as the team managed to secure their first win for NCAA Season 25 with a final score of 92-55.

In an interview with THE BEDAN HERALD, Justin Palisoc (II-BSBA-FM) expressed how he felt about the outcome of their game. He said, “Masaya pero hindi kuntento kasi maraming turnovers and lapses ang nangyari kanina.
