“THE act of reclaiming marketing managements lost culture to see to it that the barriers between levels are removed and each of us gets to act in camaraderie,” said Kenneth Perez (IV - BSBA MM), External Vice President of the Junior Bedan Marketing Association (JBMA) during its General Assembly held last Oct. 20 with the theme, “RetroVision: Blast From the Past.” Along with the inspirational talk, the event also had icebreaker games, raffles, and an intermission number by Teatro Bedista.
The guest speaker, Rizza Lana-Sebastian, a serial entrepreneur behind ten brands like Lana and Mink PH, dedicated to crafting mindful products and services that prioritize well-being and the environment, gave an inspirational talk about entrepreneurship and marketing from start-up to success. As she reminded the Marketistas of their huge responsibility as future marketers, she pointed out that they must keep their values intact as they will be tested. “Business is not just about money and fame; it’s also about having responsibility and being mindful of what you put out there,” Lana-Sebastian said.
Dr. Emmanuel D. Evangelista, Department Chair of Business Administration and Entrepreneurship shared what he heard and saw in the JBMA community when he first entered the institution. “JBMA is not only the biggest one in population but the officers are the most aggressive, most driven, and most committed to be the best,” he said. Dr. Evangelista also commended the efficiency of the Marketistas. However, the achievement and dedication were put on hold due to the pandemic.
With the new set of officers this academic year, Dr. Evangelista believes that they can bring back the glory of JBMA in SBCA. On behalf of the JBMA officers, Secretary Katrina Vicente (IV - BSBA MM) closed the event by extending their heartfelt gratitude to the Marketistas.
