INNOVATION unleashed, visionaries unite! Organized by the SBCA Bedan Entrepreneurs Society, “Innovision: Kickstart 2024” was held at the St. Maur Auditorium on April 29, hosted by Carlos Joaquin Ventura (IV-BSE) and Jazmine Abalo (IV-BSE).

As part of the School of Business, Accountancy, and Management (SBAM) week, the event provided a platform for aspiring entrepreneurs from SBCA and the University of Perpetual Health System DALTA (UPHSD) - Molino Campus to present and showcase their brands and original products. From both sides, the auditorium housed their booths and stalls, namely: Lampara, Sixth Scents, WeAight, Chicken Karaage Wraps, Veggy, Always Ready, EasyServe, Peel O’ Shine, Eco-Hommie, Cup O’ Candle, and Ostreum Condiments Manufacturing.

“If there is one thing that makes our B.S, Entrepreneurship program different, (it) is the actual hands-on experience of our students (in) the actual world of business,” said Dr. Andres Ignacio San Mateo Jr., the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), during his opening remarks. He shared his vision of what he hopes the entrepreneur students will soon become, referring to the origin story of Papemelroti, a popular and local specialty shop, stating that it started as a school project. “Please do not do this for the sake of passing a particular course. Take this training seriously, and if you see yourself as a businessman in the future, take this opportunity to continue what you have started,” the VPAA added.

Guest speaker, Rosemarie Delfinado shared her journey from beginning as a licensed physical therapist to becoming a unit manager at Sun Life and an entrepreneur. Her talk centered around unleashing potential and igniting passion and purpose in the business world, “When you say passion, it’s all the things (that) you’re excited for, and the purpose is the reason why you exist.”. She ended by leaving the audience with an inspirational quote: “You can do more and be more.”

Kickstart: Innovation 2024 officially came to a close with the closing remarks from Dr. Emmanuel D. Evangelista, the department chair of Business Administration and Entrepreneurship. “I am looking forward to the future entreps (students) that will be doing this kickstart,” he said. Dr. Evangelista also expressed his pride at how great the turnout of the event was.
