BEING part of THE BEDAN HERALD, a student publication, requires dedication and commitment. As a creative, my job consists of producing content by taking photos, writing articles, or making graphic art. Creative professionals occasionally experience creative blocks. It is the feeling of running out of creative juices or not being able to access one’s imagination that limits one’s ability to create and come up with ideas.

Art degrees are ALSO educational rights, not a privilege
“WALANG PERA DIYAN” – the dismissive remarks I get as a student taking a degree in arts. The stigma attached to arts degrees has persisted. Such attitudes contribute to a prevailing belief that degrees in media, arts, humanities, and related fields—are “useless” compared to those in business, economics, or science and technology.

Man vs. God
“SIGE ka, masusunog ka sa impyerno,” were a few of the words said to me as a child. It daunted me that even as a child, the smallest mistakes were enough to condemn me to hell. What more now, as adults, how many points have we accumulated? And does it count when we choose ourselves?
Finding contentment in the uncertainty of life
BEING target-driven on a particular goal can be the driving force that keeps us going, possibly enabling us to reach heights we never thought we could achieve. If everything goes according to plan, your ego inflates, and suddenly, you believe that everything is possible. But what if things don’t go exactly as planned? Looming in is an overwhelming feeling of disappointment, and that once-inflated ego is reduced to a mere shadow of its former self, humbled after being slapped by reality
Is life really not a race?
GRADUATING with Latin Honors in the halls of PICC is the ultimate dream of many students—including mine. Overwhelming as it seems, this goal motivates us to strive harder, especially for the Seniors who are only one step away from this dream. But does our hard work end once we graduate?
You’re Not Right, and That’s Alright
IMAGINE – while having dinner, someone you love begins to talk about a YouTube video they recently watched. The YouTuber in that video was convinced that an Algerian Olympic boxer was unfairly competing because they believed that the athlete was transgender. Even though you try to clarify that this is misinformation, they won’t listen, even though a Google search can easily verify the truth. Frustrated, you begin to question how we came to be in a world where fake news spreads like wildfire and comments from random vloggers are treated as truth.
College Life Inside an Exclusive Village
IT is not often that you get to experience college life inside one of the most luxurious villages in the city, especially for someone from an underprivileged neighborhood. The stark contrast between commuting from the ever-polluted area of Starmall Alabang to the lush, evergreen streets of Alabang Hills can be quite jarring, leaving me with mixed feelings about our campus’s location.
What’s a Rich Kid Doing in a State University?
All men are created equal, but when it comes to attaining quality education in state universities, it is no equalizer.
