SEC prepares for the upcoming school year

AS the new school year is on the horizon, the Student Executive Council (SEC) adjusts and prepares for what is ahead. “Reflecting our commitment to clear communication, responsible leadership, and keeping the Bedan community engaged and informed,” the caption said in a post on the Facebook page of SEC as it shared the minutes of the meeting and the attendance of the officers of its recent meeting held last June 2.

Outstanding interns honored at Lion’s Pride Accolade

THE Student Internship Program (SIP) concludes this academic year with the Lion’s Pride Accolade, celebrating exemplary student interns and recognizing partner institutions. The event, organized by the current SIP Coordinator, Prof. Adrianna Quioyo, aims to appreciate the interns who embodied the “Ideal Bedan” core values. The event also acknowledged the support of Host Training Establishments (HTEs) through their mentorship.

Youth vote shakes up 2025 Midterm Elections

The 2025 midterm elections marked a powerful thrust toward change, as the young voter vote was the deciding factor in changing the nation’s political landscape. With 35 percent of the over 68 million registered voters nationwide belonging to the youth sector or those aged 18 to 35, their combined efforts sent reform-minded candidates to positions of authority. This has represented a giant leap toward an engaged, vote-literate society.

Vacant SEC Positions Open the First-Ever Snap Elections

ONLY three positions were filled in this year’s Student Executive Council (SEC) general elections. As announced on the Bedan Electoral Committee (BELCOM)’s Facebook page last Apr. 26, the positions are the President, External Vice President (EVP), and second-year level representative, while eight seats remain vacant. From 529 total Bedan voters during the last special elections, the population decreased to 386 voters.

COCOPEA Urges Electoral Candidates to Address Educational Crisis

“WE have built an education system that is not performing according to what it should be reaching,” Mr. Karlo Abadines, Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan Executive Director, said during “Elected: An Electoral Forum on Education for Change,” organized by the Coordinating Council of Private Educational Associations (COCOPEA) and in partnership with the Junior Bedan Law Circle last Apr. 21 at the Tugade Auditorium.
