The Youth Goes Green with a Dream!

IN a world brimming with challenges, young minds spark a beacon of hope for the future. On Aug. 12, International Youth Day commemorated the immense potential of younger generations to boost society’s welfare and their mission to tackle environmental concerns with the theme, “Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World.”

Capturing Heritage Through Lens: SBCA Alumnus Rex Reynaldo Cabugon

DISCOVERING a new passion can alter the course of one’s life, and for SBCA Alumna Rex Reynaldo Cabugon, holding a camera during his second year in the B.A. Communications and Media Studies (CMS) program sparked his transformation from a budding writer to a passionate photographer. In an interview with THE BEDAN HERALD, Cabugon reflected on his journey from capturing everyday stories through street photography to becoming a professional photographer at the Ayala Museum.

OMCM: Outgrowing My Cultural Mouth

REACHING for peak humor and relatability within the Bedan community, the word “omsim”— an inversion of the Filipino word mismo, meaning “exactly” in English is widely used within the campus to communicate different responses. The Dos and Don’ts of Internships

ONE of the fundamental objectives of the internship program is to give young individuals a chance to receive training, learn new skills, and gain necessary job experience. After completing my third year of college and upon entering my fourth year, nearly closing the gap to graduate, I started with the question, “Paano kaya itong internship? Parents and other adults close to us tell us that an internship can heighten our awareness of community issues, motivate us to create opportunities, embrace new ideas, and give direction to positive change. Some may be excited or are still deciding on their actions, but how do you get there? Well, fellow Bedans, there will be many processes. Remember that every journey begins with a single step.

Keeping Up with the Ebbs and Flows of College

COLLEGE is a time when young adults are expected to take initiative on their career path. Noted as the “last phase of being a student,” there is also pressure as this is the time they are nearing the end of becoming one. Pursuing college is a remarkable phenomenon that consists of ups and downs that could contribute to an individual’s perception and attribution toward the reality of their lives.

RAVE: Alumna Beatriz Awatin crowned Miss Progress International Human Rights 2022

MAKE way for Queen Z! Bedan alumna Beatriz “Zea” V. Awatin, she won the title of Miss Progress Human Rights 2022 last Sept. 17. Previously held in Puglia, Italy, the Miss Progress International (MPI) pageant has evolved from awarding girls for their appearance to requiring them to develop a rendition of their ideas and projects, concerning four fields — integration of cultures, environment, health, and human rights — which will be brought to the attention of the world if awarded.
