IN celebration of the solemn season of Lent, the Bedan Liturgical Ministries (BLM) invited the Bedan community to partake in the 14 Stations of the Cross at the San Beda College Alabang Forest Park last Mar. 25.
In an opening prayer led by Keila B. Juanico (III-BSBA FM), mentioned that as followers of Christ, they must walk in His footsteps and take up their cross. “We will do the Way of the Cross with love, dedication, and faith. We will emulate Jesus’ supreme act of self-giving and self-emptying,” the BLM President said.
Sir Manny Cagata, BLM moderator and Theology professor shared what he thinks about the practice of the Stations of the Cross. He said that besides honoring the passion of Christ, Bedans are also encouraged to participate in the solemnity of the blessed holy week in order to make amendments. Cagata further emphasized, “We are also encouraged to do some fasting, almsgiving, and abstinence as what the season of Lent is calling us to do. It is a season of prayer and reflection.”
