THE Bedan Electoral Committee (BELCOM) has announced the results of the special joint elections for Academic Year 2026-2027 last Aug. 29, filling the vacant positions of the Student Executive Council (SEC), Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA), Bedan Psychological Society (BPS), and Junior Bedan Law Circle (JBLC).

The elections were held from Aug. 27 to 28, with onsite voting conducted at the CAS Building Library Conference Room. Online voting was also made available during the election period, while voting on Aug. 28 was conducted exclusively online following the suspension of classes.

Independent and sole candidate Yuan James Marquez (I-BSIT), was elected First-Year Level Representative with 82.7 percent of the votes, while 17.3 percent abstained. Marquez previously served as president of the Supreme Student Council and class president at his previous school.

JPIA filled its entire slate of officers, with Mosela Medina (III-BSAIS) as President, Rafael Anselmo Olorga (IV-BSAIS) as Executive Secretary, Eira Jhanel Cenabre (II-BSA) as Vice President for Internal Affairs, Lauren Alexis Tupaz (II-BSAIS) for the position of Vice President for External Affairs,  Maxine Anderson (III-BSA) as Vice President for Finance, James Gabriel Abadejos (III-BSA) as Vice President for Audit, Loraine Joyce Matorre (II-BSAIS) as Vice President for Information, Publication, and Documentation, Kastner Hazel Pilon (II-BSA) as Vice President for Academics, Alyssa Faith Argana (III-BSAIS) as Vice President for Non-Academics, Christian Avelina (III-BSA) as Director for Marketing Affairs, Chad Nicholai Silva (II-BSA) as Director for Sponsorship and Logistics, Jhyra Balbido (IV-BSA) as  Communications Officer IV, Abraham Asoy (III-BSA) as Communications Officer III, Gio Carlo Dela Peña (II-BSA) as Communications Officer II, and Xandjove Quitain (I-BSA) as Communications Officer I. 

For BPS, independent and sole candidate Lorraine Adrienne Abad (I-BAP) was elected First-Year Level Representative with 93.8 percent of the votes, while 6.3 percent abstained.

Abad previously served as a board member of the SBCA High School Student Council and currently serves as president of the National Service Training Program Council of Beadles. Her campaign platforms include “Guidance for First Years,” “Sa’n ‘to Frosh,” and “Tulong KaFrosh,” which focus on providing information and peer support to freshmen.

Meanwhile for JBLC, Maria Blanca Nicolas (I-BSLM) was elected as its First-Year Level Representative against opposing candidate Vinice Mairreine Talam (I-BSLM) with 61.1 percent of the votes, while Talam received 36. 1 percent, and 2.8 percent abstained.

Nicolas previously served as Work Immersion Secretary and as an officer of the Bedan Marshalls. Her platforms, “Prima Vox” and “Student Rights Awareness Initiative,” focus on student-rights education, open communication, and accessible avenues for freshmen to raise their concerns.

In an interview with THE BEDAN HERALD, Angela Kaye Saladino (III-BSLM), Chairperson of BELCOM, stated that the organization has duly recorded and recognized the results of the 2026 joint special elections. “They will enable the respective organizations to proceed with their responsibilities and continue serving their student constituents.”

The Internal Vice President position of the SEC remains vacant, as BELCOM coordinates with the committee to determine the appropriate course of action, with further details to be announced once finalized.
