THE Tertiary Schools’ first week of back-to-school classes began with welcoming orientations as a reception for both incoming freshmen and returning upperclassmen, held at the Multi-Purpose Hall last July 28 and at the St. Maur Auditorium last July 29, respectively. These orientations served as a primer for the newcomers and a refresher for the returning students, answering any queries or concerns of the student body.

PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. delivered his fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) last July 28, highlighting his administration’s efforts in various aspects of the country while presenting new priorities for the remaining three years of his term. Speaking before a joint congress, he addressed issues and laid out his initiatives for a “Bagong Pilipinas.” However, several key issues relevant to the landscape of the country remain unanswered.

USUALLY described as “modern-day slavery,” human trafficking has existed since the 1500s, a period known as the Transatlantic Slave Trade. Currently, insufficient responses to justice have been acquired. Last July 30, the world recognized the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, with the United Nations (UN) initiating the Blue Heart Campaign as a movement to raise awareness on this matter.

LAST July 17, the Philippine Association of Certified Tax Technicians (PACTT) announced the list of the Certified Tax Technician examination passers.

YEARLONG achievements, dedication and excellence displayed by members of the Bedan Community, including administrators, faculty and staff, were lauded during the 2025 Academic Convocation and Bedan Service Awards held at the St. Benedict Chapel last July 11.

HONORING the life and legacy of St. Benedict, SBCA celebrated his Feast Day with a eucharistic celebration last July 11. Other institutions across the Philippines and around the world also marked the occasion in their unique ways.

CELEBRATING the achievements of the graduating batch of 2025, San Beda College Alabang conducted its joint commencement exercise on July 4 at the Aliw Theater in Pasay City. The rites mark the culmination of the graduates’ academic years and the beginning of their professional lives.

“YOU did everything to endure what it takes to succeed. I congratulate each of you in your perseverance in your academic journey through thick or thin,” Fr. Gerardo Ma. De Villa, OSB, SBCA Rector President, said in his homily during the Tertiary Schools Baccalaureate Mass held today at St. Benedict Chapel.

THE School of Arts, Sciences, and Education (SASE) concludes the academic year with strong achievements in its programs and student organization activities, from international partnerships to student-led initiatives. These accomplishments reflect the school’s continuous efforts to uphold academic excellence.

LAST academic year, The Bedan Information Technology Society (BITS), alongside the newly founded Junior Bedan Engineering Society (JBES), led a formative ripple of innovative events and partnerships that set into motion numerous breakthroughs both in the academic and professional field within and beyond the School of Engineering and Technology (SET).
