Bedans’ Phenomenal Return: Thumps Once Again!

STUDENTS, faculty and staff of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) celebrated the return of face-to-face integration held at the SBCA football field last December 2, 2022. Students from Psychology and Education won in the Battle Cry competition, while their counterparts from the Legal Management took home the championship for the performance competition.

The Benedictine Revival

LAST year, San Beda College Alabang (SBCA) commemorated its golden jubilee by conducting festivities and events such as the Heritage Walk and Alumni Homecoming. Today, SBCA upholds its Benedictine values and spirit as some of the offices in the College reopened its doors to the Bedan community.

Passion Speaks Louder Than Words

“NAG shashampoo ba ang kalbo?” is a question that may sound funny, but in reality, it challenges a person’s thinking and argumentative skills. This prompt was one of the few debate topics discussed during the comeback event of San Beda Alabang Debate Society (SBADS), “Speak with Passion: Open Mic and Welcome Debate,” held on Oct. 27 in Fr. Bellarmine Hall at SBCA.

SBCA celebrates the “noblest profession”: Teaching

TEACHERS are individuals who fulfill many roles at school. From parents, guardians, advisors, and leaders to the ones who show the highest authority, they perform these roles with passion yet caution because it is such a noble and immense responsibility. To commemorate World Teachers’ Day, a sparkling event was held last Oct. 6 at the Manny Reyes Hall to honor all the work, and passion educators have for their students and the professors, moderators, and administrators of the College.

BEVO: In Praying, Comes Deciding

AIMING to enrich the Benedictine values of the College, a collaboration between Junior Financial Executives – SBCA (JFINEX) and Bedan Liturgical Ministries (BLM) presented the first episode of their newly-launched Benedictine Enrichment of Values Operations (BEVO) series entitled: “Episode 1: Ora in Our Decision Making.” It discussed the influential importance of prayer towards one’s decision making and career trajectory, and was live-streamed on the official Facebook page of JFINEX last Sept. 4.
Before the event commenced, hosts Jonathan Casey Angala (IV-BSA) and Cherry Anne Fuentes (IV-BSBA-FM) introduced JFINEX President Angela Ghobris (IV-BSBA-FM) to deliver the opening prayer. It was then followed by the singing of the national anthem.

Empowering the Future: Filipino Youth’s Role in the 2022 National Election

ENCOURAGING the youth to exercise their democratic duty, the San Beda Rover Circle (SBRC), Rotaract Club of San Beda College Alabang (RAC), and the Junior Bedan Law Circle (JBLC) orchestrated the webinar “Bata ka pa, wala ka pang alam”: The Filipino Youth and their Role in the 2022 National Election.” It was held last Aug. 27 via Zoom and was live-streamed through the SBRC Facebook page.
